Does GoaCMS replace PostgreSQL?

No. GoaCMS works with PostgreSQL and keeps the real schema visible. It can design new tables, manage supported existing tables, and expose database views as read-only reporting Lists.

Can editors use it without knowing database terminology?

Yes. Friendly labels, help text, input controls, form sections, translations, and live previews shape the editor experience while database and API keys remain stable.

How are schema changes protected?

The Database Designer previews operations and requires an explicit confirmation phrase. Multi-table starter models and imports are applied transactionally, so partial work is not left behind when validation fails.

Can content be public without opening the admin?

Yes. Visitor permissions can expose selected Lists and readable fields through public REST requests. Domain-aware pages can also be served directly from stored layouts and HTML.

What can be automated?

Flows respond to List item create, update, and delete events. Deliveries are signed, recorded, retried automatically with backoff, and can be tested or retried manually.

Is there a customer-facing experience?

Yes. The installable service desk lets customers open department-routed enquiries and follow conversations. Support staff can update status and convert verified bugs into user stories.
